This photo of the Hepatica (Hepatica nobilis) was taken last week at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia along the Middle Oconee River in Athens. The blooming of the Hepatica, a herbaceous perennial in the buttercup family,  is an early spring highlight in our watershed.
